COVID-19 HEALTH EMERGENCY

To Our Landlords, Managers, and Partners,

The COVID-19 health emergency has dealt an enormous blow to our national and local economies. We are just beginning to see the fallout and want you to know that the Anaheim Housing Authority (AHA) is doing everything it can to monitor the situation and making adjustments as necessary.

Many of our clients and your tenants have lost their jobs. AHA is able to assist our clients if their income has been reduced. While we have attempted to communicate this to our clients, we also want you to know what we are doing. If you know of a voucher holder that has lost their job or has a reduced schedule, please encourage them to report the changes by email, or phone. , or fax to AHA.

Voucher holders can send the change of income to AHAinfo@anaheim.net and the information will be forwarded to corresponding case worker to make the change in tenant rent. They may also opt to call our office at (714) 765-4320 or send a fax to (714) 765-4331 and their message will be forwarded to their corresponding case worker. Any reduction in tenant rent due to decreased earnings will be matched with an increase in the HAP payment made to the landlord by AHA to ensure the owner receives the full contract rent. If changes are made close to the 1st of the month, it may take an additional week to issue the supplemental HAP payment. We thank you in advance for your understanding of last minute income changes and how it can affect payment to you.

We have had a number of you ask about the Coronavirus Eviction Moratorium (Ordinance No. 6482). It is a local ordinance passed by the Anaheim City Council to protect residential and commercial tenants from eviction for nonpayment of rent due to the COVID-19 emergency. The ordinance went into effect on March 24, 2020. For more information, visit https://www.anaheim.net/5479/Eviction-Protection-Program

We value the relationship we have with you and want to ensure that you can continue to operate your business with as little interruption as possible. If you have any concerns or comments, please let us know.

Sincerely,

Anaheim Housing Authority
