APPLICATIONS FOR ANAHEIM HOUSING AUTHORITY (AHA)
HOUSING CHOICE VOUCHER

INSTRUCTIONS FOR COMPLETING YOUR ON-LINE APPLICATION

To complete the application for the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV), you will need the following information for all persons who are (or will be) in your household:

(a) social security number
(b) date of birth
(c) total income received from all sources


Once you complete the application, the system will provide you with a confirmation number. Please write down your Confirmation Number and keep it for future reference. Submit only ONE application. Duplicate applications will not be accepted.

ELIGIBILITY GUIDELINES

The information provided below is not intended to be an all inclusive list of eligibility criteria. Additional program information is available at the City of Anaheim website.

  • Head of household must be least 18 years of age or an emancipated minor.
  • Applicant and all adult members of the family must pass a criminal background check. The following persons are not eligible for housing assistance: (1) Persons who have ever been convicted of manufacturing or producing methamphetamine on the premises of any federally-assisted housing and (2) Persons subject to a lifetime registration requirement under a state sex offender registration program.
  • The total gross income of the applicant and all household members (combined) cannot exceed the established income limits for the HCV program. Income limits are established by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
  • Applicant and all members of the family must provide verification of social security numbers for all family members or certify that they do not have social security numbers at the time of initial eligibility interview.
  • The Applicant or any member of the family may not owe any debt to AHA or any other housing authority. Exceptions can be granted if the applicant is current on a repayment agreement or the debt has been cured through a court action.

PROJECT-BASED VOUCHER HOUSING (PBV)

If any Project-Based Voucher waiting lists are open, they will be listed below.
These waiting lists are for apartments assisted with project-based vouchers. Your family must live in the offered units in order to receive assistance.
Please read the description of each project carefully as you must qualify for any age, disability or family-size requirements to apply.
